FAWN WILLIAMS (she/her)

Fawn believes there is a beneficial way for everyone to practice. She encourages joyfulness in her classes, which are best described as “sneaky strength” and alignment-oriented. She enjoys helping students figure out novel ways to move, breathe, and be embodied.

Fawn made her home in Portland in 2000 and began teaching yoga in 2008, when she founded a wellness program at her alma mater, Pacific Northwest College of Art. As owner and director of Elk Rock Yoga, she weaves creativity throughout every part of the business. She finds yoga to be a creative pursuit, and leads events that combine artistic practices with yoga.

Meditation is the spine of Fawn’s teaching. She was raised in Vermont, and at age 6 she learned her first practice, Sound Meditation, from Sant Ajaib Singh at Sant Bani Ashram. Much later, in crowded vinyasa-style rooms in San Francisco studying contemporary dance, she learned that the postural practices of yoga asana provided a respite from performance anxiety and repetitive strain.

Fawn is a certified yoga therapist:, C-IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapy), CREDN Member (Columbia River Eating Disorder Network), YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider), and E-RYT 500.
