General

We are unable to offer refunds on class cards, intro specials, and other class pricing options, but in certain cases we may provide studio credit.

Extensions

We may sometimes provide extensions on pricing options that have an expiration date; these are determined on a case-by-case basis.

Workshops

Workshops canceled with five or more days’ notice receive a refund in the amount paid. We do not offer credit for unused workshops.

Repeating events

For repeating events with the same Elk Rock facilitator at the same price, and if space is available, you may request the option to swap dates.

Memberships

Memberships must be canceled with a minimum of 14 days’ written notice before the next billing date. Please email. Memberships must be paid to date to cancel, and we’re not able to offer refunds on unused memberships.

Retail purchases

Retail items can be returned within seven days of purchase for studio credit only, and must be in new, unused condition with all of the original packaging.

Health Policies

Masks

Anyone who wants to wear a mask is welcome to.

Practice distance

Drop-ins are okay, but since we limit class sizes, preregistration is strongly recommended. We open the studio 10–15 minutes before class, and doors are locked outside of that time.

Self-assess

If you aren’t feeling well, have a cough, fever, or symptoms of upper respiratory illness, please do not attend class.

Limited contact

You are welcome to bring your own mat and props. Disinfected props (mat, two blocks, bolster, blanket) are $5 to rent or free for members.

Practice clean

We disinfect studio surfaces between classes. Our air purifier is a true HEPA filter that’s antimicrobial: it purifies the room completely every 30 minutes, removing 99.99% of airborne dust, allergens, mold, germs, bacteria, and other contaminants. Doors are open at regular intervals to promote fresh air circulation. As a wellness space, we take cleanliness seriously. If you notice something is not up to par, email info@elkrockyoga.com and we will address it promptly.

FAQ

I’m a beginner. What's a good class for me to take?

As a beginner, you’re welcome to attend any of our classes. Our teachers are highly skilled and can guide students who are at any level. That being said, if you feel a slower-paced class may be a good introduction to Elk Rock, look for classes that include “yin” or “restorative.” If you prefer a faster pace, our offerings with the word “flow” would be a good fit. See our current schedule for options.

Do I need to bring my own mat, or are mats provided?

We provide yoga mats in the studio, and you’re more than welcome to borrow one! We provide cleaning spray and towels for you to use before returning them.

Do packages expire?

Packages expire six months after the date they’re purchased. We don’t generally offer extensions, but we understand that life can deliver you the unexpected. Folks who feel they need an extension should reach out to us at info@elkrockyoga.com.

I have attended one class at Elk Rock Yoga, can I still access one of your new student specials?

Our new student specials are reserved for students who haven’t attended a class with us before, but we have many offers available for returning students. Our selection of packages and memberships allow you to commit to your practice in the way that best suits you: in-studio or virtual, anywhere from five classes at a time or for a full 12 months. Explore your options.

What does the wellness concierge entail?

Our wellness concierge is a time for you to meet with one of our team members and discuss your yoga goals.

I have an emotional support animal, can I bring them to class?

Though we don’t permit emotional support animals at Elk Rock Yoga, we can accommodate service dogs that are registered with prior notice. Please email info@elkrockyoga.com, as we can only fulfill these requests with prior notice and if space permits.

I’m interested in teaching at Elk Rock. Are you looking for new teachers?

When we are in need of new teachers, we look for folks who have attended at least three classes at Elk Rock, and have a 20-minute audition prepared. If this sounds like you, please submit a form with your interest!

Are you taking scholarship students?

We offer two scholarships quarterly to help ease systemic barriers of participation. We prioritize Black, Brown, or Queer community members. Find out more here.

Do you rent your space?

We are happy to be able to offer our space for community members and groups. Space rentals are available by the hour, day, or monthly. Please check our schedule of events to see availability. Read more about renting our space.

Do you offer hot yoga classes?

In a highly stressful world where adrenal glands are maxed and many people experience stress-related health issues, our services are meant to create ease. That said, you will get sweaty during our flow classes where we use asana (the poses) and pranayama (breath work) to create heat in the body. Our studio temperature is warmer during the winter months and cooler during the summer to balance the weather temperatures.
