Future self retreat FAQ

What makes the Future Self retreat in Long Beach special?

The Adrift Hotel offers a rare beachfront experience in an area known for its long coastline. Nestled in the Long Beach Peninsula, the hotel boasts beach access with bikes for guests, a heated saline pool, barrel saunas, and a top-notch restaurant.

Can I bring my spouse who doesn’t practice yoga to the retreat? Is it suitable for friends or others who might not participate in the yoga sessions?

Absolutely! Your spouse, friends, or family are more than welcome to join the retreat, even if they do not participate in the yoga sessions. Our retreat is designed to cater to a variety of interests beyond yoga, such as crafting, karaoke, spa, and leisure time. While you enjoy your yoga sessions, your companions can participate in other activities offered at the hotel or simply relax and enjoy the environment. This retreat is about more than just yoga; it’s an immersive coastal experience that has something for everyone. So, feel free to bring along someone special to share in this unique adventure.

Do I need to have a lot of experience in yoga to join this retreat?

Not at all! The retreat is designed for individuals of all yoga levels, from beginners to more experienced practitioners. The yoga sessions are crafted to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of their yoga proficiency. Fawn is adept at tailoring the practice to meet the needs of each participant, ensuring supportive sessions for all. This retreat is about embracing wellness at your own pace and comfort level, surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest. So, whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, you will find the sessions enriching and adaptable to your skills.

What kind of activities are included?

Highlights include a ceramic tile making workshop at neighboring business, Ilwaco Artworks, an essential oil workshop, and Future Self karaoke (our theme). During our down time, bike the Discovery Trail, hike Cape Disappointment, visit the onsite distillery, and check out hidden gems listed in our Welcome Letter.

Is this retreat a good value?

Yes. The quality of accommodation, the skill and experience level of the yoga teacher, exclusive activities, and healthy, local cuisine make this retreat exceptionally valuable for a retreat experience in the Pacific Northwest.

Why is the trip in March?

Visiting the coast in March offers a blend of moody weather, fewer crowds, and more peace, making it an ideal time for those seeking a more authentic and comfortable experience. Our event is held over the weekend of the Spring Equinox, offering a fresh start to intentions for the year. It also marks the start of the new astrological year, Aries, the fiery sign known for taking initiative.

If the retreat is offered again, will the prices be the same?

We offer this retreat annually, and it’s likely that the costs will be higher due to the overall trend of rising hospitality costs in general. Recent data shows that accommodation and restaurant prices have seen significant increases since May 2022.

I want to go but I’m not ready to sign up. If you get close to a sold-out retreat, can you let me know? That may be all I need to push me to sign up.

We understand that making a decision to join a retreat is significant, especially when there’s a lot going on. If you’re interested but not quite ready to sign up, we can keep you informed about the registration progress. As we get closer to capacity, we can reach out to you. Please email Fawn  (info@elkrockyoga.com) to let her know whether you would be coming solo or with someone else.
