KELLY VIERNES (she/her)
Yoga has been my one constant in the last decade. After growing up among the Ko’olaus in Oahu, I’ve been drawn to communities that share their roots through singing, dancing, and ancestral-honoring. I am attracted to bringing people together with the intention that they will be seen and celebrated in ways that they want to express themselves, embracing new discoveries on the way.
I received my RYT-200 certificate in Goa, India in 2019, with a focus on Dynamic Multi-Style Yoga. Prior to this, I was introduced to Bikram, Kundalini, and Hatha styles, and incorporated a hodge podge of yoga classes as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ha Makujoe, Lesotho. I was later drawn to occupational therapy, as it has a client-centered approach to helping people reintegrate back into their daily lives after experiencing a traumatic event. I will likely incorporate the holistic frames of references I’ve learned while being an acute-care occupational therapy assistant within my yoga classes.
