Part 1: Intro to Principles and Practices of Pilates
This 90 minute class will introduce the exercises and approach that form basic working principles of Pilates. We will learn to identify and properly engage core muscles. This will be a fun and active exploration in posture, alignment, and integrated strength building that will meet you at your fitness level (beginning, intermediate, and advanced strength level modifications will be provided)
Part 2: Why Core Matters in Yoga
In our second 90 minute class of this series we will look at why core integration is a foundational aspect of a strong, healthy yoga practice. There is a lot in modern life that diminishes our core engagement- and when we arrive into our yoga practice, unless core strength is an emphasized part of the training or already developed, it can often be left by the wayside- leaving us missing an essential piece of our integration. During this class we will review the exercises introduced in the principles of Pilates class as we weave core awareness into Hatha and Vinyasa practices.
