As we move into the new year, coming back to the foundations of the practice, the first limb of Yoga, provides a framework for how we live with ourselves and each other, and for cultivating wellness in both the inner and outer ecologies.
These tools for well-being and healing are accessible to all, regardless of race, age, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, religion. In this workshop we will introduce the Yama & Niyamas as the foundational concepts of Yoga, and as guiding principles for living through a lens of equity and social justice.
Workshop details:
-Introduction to the concept of the five Yamas and Niyamas
-One hour-long, guided practice embodying the philosophy, and come together in community for a discussion of how these principles align with our own values and how we can support each other in integrating and implementing those that resonate most with us.
-Connect to both the personal and social justice aspects of the first limb of Yoga.
